Time for the Famine
It's just a little before noon on friday, so that means the famine is starting soon.
I'm looking forward to this. But not just because the event is a lot of fun, but because we get to do something we don't normally do. How often do we really sacrifice something for the purposes of pray, and service. Fasting is not just about giving up meals as a challenge, it is an ancient spiritual discipline that is an amazing communion with God. Our lives seem too busy to take time to be with God. This weekend we have an amazing opportunity to serve and interact with God. Though I know we'll all be hungry by the end, I know it'll be worth every moment.
I'll post some pics of the event up here later. See ya.
